Filing Bankruptcy stops creditor from contacting you. When you file, an
Automatic Stay goes into effect. If a creditor contacts you after you have told
them you have filed, they are in violations of Title 11 U.S.C. Section 362 (a) of
the Federal Bankruptcy code.
When the “Automatic Stay” is in effect, creditors should not:
• Contact you
• Take any action against you or the your property to collect any debt
• Enforce any lien on debtor’s real or personal property
• Repossess any property in debtor’s possession
• Discontinue any service or benefit currently being provided to the debtor
• Take any action to evict the debtor from his/her residential dwelling
A violation of these prohibitions may be considered contempt of court and
punished accordingly. The protection from harassment actually starts when
you retain William Parks as your Attorney. Once William Parks represents you,
creditors must contact him and not you.
Simply retaining The Law Office of William Parks will start the process of ending
the
Harassment.
